Recently, a dog calmly taking a cable car up a mountain in Hecang Scenic Area, Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, has gained widespread attention.
On October 23, a tourist captured a video of a black dog sitting alone in a cable car seat, ascending the mountain. The video shows the dog calmly and naturally, as if it were an experienced regular. It has quickly sparked heated discussions on the internet, with many netizens joking, “This dog knows when it’s tired from climbing and chooses to ride the cable car for transportation.”
In response to the online discussions, Hecang Scenic Area staff explained that the black dog is owned by a merchant within the scenic area. Given that the dog had ridden the cable car with merchant staff before, it was likely familiar with the route. On this particular day, it managed to board the cable car unnoticed by the staff and proceeded to ride it alone. The scenic area acknowledged that while the scene is humorous, the open cable car poses certain risks, and they plan to strengthen management at the cable car entrance and strictly prohibit pets from boarding without an adult, to ensure the safety of visitors.
