Xiaomi, the popular Chinese smart home and consumer electronics company, has entered the real estate market with its first employee housing project, "Guanggu Mengxiangjia," in Wuhan, Hubei province. The project, which started sales on February 25, comprises 297 fourth-generation residential units with an average price of approximately ¥1,380 per square meter. Currently, only Xiaomi employees are eligible to purchase these units. The residential complex includes four buildings, with three of them being 18-story and the other a 33-story building. The units range from 110 square meters (approximately 1,100 square feet) three-bedroom homes, 122 to 125 square meter mid-sized units, to 143 square meter large units with a 16-square-meter rooftop garden. Features of the fourth-generation residential standard include rooftop gardens, covered walkways, a gym, yoga room, healing space, ping-pong room, and a home theater. The project is located near the Baozi Xi Park and Wuchang Children's Hospital, and it is conveniently close to Xiaomi's Wuhan technology park. Additionally, the community's access control system is integrated with Xiaomi's smart ecosystem, allowing residents to use facial recognition to enter their building, after which the elevator will automatically proceed to their floor. Established in Wuhan's Guiguzi district in 2017, Xiaomi has around 8,000 employees in the city, with over 60 percent of them being research and development staff.
