Yemen's Houthis claimed they struck Saudi Arabia's largest oil refinery, Ras Tanura, with a ballistic missile, causing a fire at the complex located on the Gulf. Intensifying conflict in the region has disrupted oil supplies and increased the risk of a wider regional conflict eight months since the Iran war began. In addition to the attack on the refinery, the Houthis said they also targeted Saudi military aircraft and repelled what they called Saudi-backed forces near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a critical Red Sea shipping route. In response, Saudi authorities reported that there was no immediate confirmation of the missile strike. However, a building and a vehicle suffered damage in Riyadh after debris from the interception of two ballistic missiles caused material damage. The Saudi-led coalition claimed to have intercepted and destroyed the incoming missiles. The ongoing hostilities have forced nearly all of Saudi Arabia's oil exports to flow through two main ports: Ras Tanura and Yanbu on the Red Sea, which the Houthis have targeted in the past. Meanwhile, the Houthis announced attacks on a military transport jet at Najran Airport, an airbase in Khamis Mushait, the Saudi defence ministry building in Riyadh, and Abha airport. Civil defence authorities in Riyadh issued a brief air raid alert. The meeting in Tehran between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan with Iranian officials aims to reduce regional tensions, with Egypt also considering a mutual defence pact to help protect Saudi Arabia.

Houthi Claims Missile Strike on Saudi Refinery
Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed a ballistic missile strike on Saudi Arabia's Ras Tanura oil refinery, the kingdom's biggest. They also said they attacked Saudi military aircraft and repelled a advance by Saudi-backed forces near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The strikes have heightened tensions, disrupting oil supplies and increasing the risk of wider regional conflict. Saudi authorities did not immediately confirm the attacks.
