U.S. President Donald Trump announced that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has restored Ukraine's Starlink access. Trump had called Musk earlier in the day to request that the restrictions on Ukraine's use of Starlink be lifted.
When asked if he had spoken to Musk, Trump said, “It doesn't matter who made the call, the important thing is that it's back.” Trump declined to provide further details.
Ukraine relies on Starlink for battlefield communications and drone operations. Restrictions on the satellite service hampered the country's attack and air defense drone missions against Russia. According to The Wall Street Journal, the Starlink system worked more normally shortly after the Trump-Musk conversation.
