劉先生不滿汽車嚴重損毀但安全氣囊卻沒有反應。江蘇電視台「零距離」

A car owner in Nanjing, Jiangsu, reported that their Xpeng X9 collided with a road kerb, roadside trees, and utility poles, leading to a severe accident that rendered the vehicle scrap, but none of the airbags deployed.

According to reports, Mr. Liu, who purchased the Xpeng X9 in 2021 for approximately 500,000 RMB, experienced a series of collisions in Nanjing that caused the vehicle to flip. Mr. Liu contacted the after-sales service to report the accident, but the customer service denied responsibility, claiming that the car was in manual driving mode and the continuous acceleration and sharp steering movements were not enough to trigger the airbags. Mr. Liu argued that this explanation was not reasonable, noting that the vehicle was traveling at 87 km/h at the time, “Do we have to find the right spot to collide in when an accident happens?”

Xpeng Automotive stated that further data and rearview camera analysis showed that the impact did not meet the airbag deployment criteria and was willing to allow for a third-party forensic evaluation. However, Mr. Liu remains unsatisfied with this explanation and plans to pursue further accountability.
