The popular Chinese ride-hailing platform 'Hail Fengche' has recently encountered coded messages for prostitution, with the platform's official response leading to the immediate ban of involved accounts.
BACKGROUND
A driver named Mr. Liu discovered that one of his delivery orders was labeled as 'send goods' but contained explicit sexual codes in the message section, including 'willing to share toll fees' and 'XX girl earns extra money'. These codes clearly do not match legitimate delivery orders and instead are coded signals for solicitation.
METHODS BECAME MORE SUBTLE, PLATFORM UPGRADED FRAUD CONTROL
Unlike the direct modification of usernames, this time the perpetrators used a more subtle method by integrating normal dialogue with coded messages within the platform's required weak social interaction for rides. This successfully bypassed the platform's automatic review of usernames and other conventional sensitive words. In response, 'Hail Fengche' officials swiftly stated that using the platform to disseminate codes for solicitation falls under a new form of black and gray industry, and they have permanently banned the offending accounts and upgraded fraud control models.
