Tragedy in Chongqing: Man forlocks 2-year-old alone at home while walking dog, wife charges with negligent homicide

In Chongqing, a 2-year-old boy, Langlang, fell to his death from the 18th floor while his father, Cui, was walking his dog for 12 minutes. His mother, Liu, is accusing him of negligent homicide and demanding criminal responsibility. She has repeatedly posted on Douyin about the incident, stating that Cui has never apologized and instead reported her for defending herself. The police have now accepted the case.

Liu said she and Cui only married in 2023, despite not having children before. Their relationship was generally poor, and the in-laws did not get along. Cui rarely took care of their child. On September 13, while watching cartoons in the living room, Langlang was left alone at home by his father, who went downstairs to walk the dog. After about 12 minutes, Cui returned to find Langlang at the window with no signs of life, blood on his mouth, and multiple injuries on his back.

Liu said Cui immediately reported the incident to the police and declined to apologize for his behavior. She contends that as a father, Cui failed to properly oversee the child, and she demands criminal responsibility for his actions leading to the child's death.
