At the Nagoya Para-Asian Games, three mistakes in national anthem playback were reported, including the mistaken use of South Korea’s national anthem during a match between China and Iran.

These incidents occurred on October 19 during events including wheelchair basketball, taekwondo, and medal ceremonies. Venue staff repeatedly mistaken different national anthems for each other, leading to multiple cases of mixed-up anthems being broadcast. Mayor and deputy organizing committee head Hirose Kazuo expressed regret, admitting that 'such issues should not have occurred again.' He instructed the relevant departments to thoroughly review the current double-check process.

Previously, similar incidents had also occurred during the Nagoya Olympics. For instance, during a men's field hockey match on September 18, South Korea’s national anthem was mistakenly replaced by North Korea’s. The organizing committee’s top officials personally apologized to the South Korean delegation the same evening. These events highlight the inexperience of the Nagoya organizing committee in managing large-scale events.
