Singles' Day in Shenzhen: A Hong Kong Man Fainted and Suffered Brain Hemorrhage Following a Day of Isolation
A Hong Kong man living alone in Shenzhen was found unconscious and rushed to the hospital, where it was discovered he had a brain hemorrhage. His life was saved after emergency surgery.
Recent years have seen an increasing number of Hong Kong residents choosing to live in northern China, including cities like Shenzhen. However, as living alone becomes more common, maintaining a close watch on one's health becomes increasingly important. Such was the case with a Hong Kong man living alone in Shenzhen who recently suffered a serious health crisis after losing contact with his family for a day. The building security received a notification and broke down the door to check on the man, only to find him unconscious on the floor. After being rushed to the hospital, it was confirmed that the man had suffered a brain hemorrhage, which could have been fatal if not treated quickly. According to reports from Southern Metropolis Daily and Phoenix News, Mr. Chen, a Hong Kong man living alone in Shenzhen, suddenly fainted at 8 PM on September 29. His family could not reach him and notified the building's security, who then broke down the door to check on him. Mr. Chen was found unconscious and sent to the Second People's Hospital of Longgang for emergency treatment. Neurosurgeon Commissioner Liu and his team worked for six hours to remove the intracranial hematoma and stabilized his condition, after which he was transferred to the ICU for two days. He was then transferred to a general ward and was discharged on October 10. Dr. Liu emphasized that any head injury, no matter how minor, should be taken seriously. Brain hemorrhage, particularly when related to such injuries, requires immediate medical attention. Every minute counts, as delay could increase the risk of death. If one experiences symptoms such as unsteadiness or a feeling of walking on cotton, they should undergo a CT scan immediately to assess the situation. Depending on the size of the hemorrhage, treatment options can range from conservative management to surgical intervention to address potential risk of herniation.
