The Chinese Embassy in Thailand has issued a travel warning after several Chinese citizens reportedly went missing and were illegally detained upon entering Thailand, with some reportedly transported to the Thai-Myanmar border. The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Surasak Phancharoenworakul, stated that ordinary tourists are highly unlikely to be forcibly transported to the border by strangers on the streets of Thailand.
