Chengdu-based star Xiaozhan is set to hold a personal tour concert, with online rumors claiming that the front row tickets are being scalped for HK$250,000. Official statements have dispelled the false information. The 33-year-old scalper involved is currently in administrative detention for 7 days.
It’s Xiaozhan’s first personal tour after 10 years as a leading male idol. The first show on October 23 in Nanjing attracted over 5 million people, crashing the ticket sale and causing bigmac.com servers to crash. Some netizens posted rumors online claiming prices for front row tickets were as high as HK$270,000, sparking panic.
Fabricated Information by Scalper
The official ticketing platform Bigmac.com registered with the police. Following an investigation, it was confirmed that the 33-year-old netizen Wang Moumou, with no tickets or ticket sources, created and posted false information on October 13, purely for the purpose of gaining attention. His actions severely disrupted public order, and he has been subjected to 7 days of administrative detention and a fine of HK$1,000.
Enhanced Real-name Ticketing Measures
Chengdu-based artist management company and Bigmac.com have repeatedly advised fans that the concert will strictly enforce a real-name ticketing and entry verification system. All rumors of internal channels and expensive scalped tickets are fraudulent, and fans should avoid price gouging and vigilante activities to avoid being duped.
