Financial Secretary Paul Chan announced the arrival of 18 strategic enterprises in Hong Kong, covering a wide range of industries, with an expected HK$84 billion in investments and 27,000 job opportunities.
Of these, half of the companies are from mainland China. Chan noted the diversity of these businesses speaks to Hong Kong's role as a global business hub, where firms, talents, and ideas from around the world converge to thrive.
Chan highlighted that these companies can drive innovation, boost economic development, and improve the quality of life for people. One of the new enterprises developed an AI-enabled tool facilitating timely medical interventions in hospitals.
